Itinerary

Anacortes to Lopez Island, 12 miles

The snowcapped Cascade Mountains greet our morning as we sail through Fidalgo Bay, Guemes Channel and the Rosario Strait, to moor at the 200-acre Spencer Spit Park on Lopez Island. Hike wooded trails before ending the day with a sunset BBQ on board.

Lopez Island to reach Roche Harbor, 17 miles

Sailing Upright Channel and past Friday Harbor, San Juan Channel is home to Orcas and seabirds. It leads us to the historic lime quarry of Roche Harbor. Now a popular seaside resort, the town offers 3 renowned restaurants, shopping and local artists.

Roche Harbor to Garrison Bay then explore Stuart Island, 6 miles

A leisurely cruise takes us to tranquil Garrison Bay, home of the famous “Pig War” with the British. Walk historic British Camp or row the dinghy to nearby Westcott Bay Shellfish Farm to gather dinner. We will anchor at private Stuart Island for hiking and spectacular island views.

Stuart Island to the Magical Sucia Islands Group, 14 miles

When Sucia Island comes into view, you can see why it’s considered the crown jewel of the San Juan Islands. The forested main horseshoe-shaped island is surrounded by smaller islands and features beautiful fossil embedded sandstone formations. Its’ quiet solitude makes it a local favorite.

Sucia Islands to Patos? Matia? Boundary Passage Exploration, TBD miles

The many trails, small cliffs, and neighboring island views seduce most visitors into staying. It’s likely we’ll do the same! Kayaking, 10 miles of hiking trails and beach combing offer numerous ways to enjoy the island.

Sucia Group to Relaxing Rosario Resort, Orcas Island, 20 miles

The ornate restored 1909 Moran Mansion remains the centerpiece of Rosario Resort on Orcas Island, home of fine dining, swimming pools and a hot relaxing spa. A museum at the mansion features original photographs from the late 1800’s to early 1900’s. A vigorous hike up Mt. Constitution reveals truly spectacular views from the Canadian Mountains to Mt. Rainier.

Orcas to Anacortes Return, 20 miles

An early morning cruise back to Anacortes Marina ends our journey but sends you home with memories of a lifetime!
